Full of Memories... Here's to 2008

Since it's obviously the end of 2008 I thought I would do a little recap of events that have happened this year. Its been crazy! I know there is no way I can put everything that I happened this year into one blog but I thought I would try to do a little glimpse of 2008! I think I probably say this every year but I think a lot of life changing events have occured this year. I also feel like I was more aware of everything going on around me kinda soaking it in and really doing some deep thinking about it all.
Ok well I'm just going to start at the beginning of the year and obviously work my way to the end.
In Februrary my grandpa Parry passed away. This was my first grandparent to pass so I took it a little harsh. It also came as a shock because out of all my grandparents he was probably the healthiest. His health took a deathly toll in December of 07 when he tripped over a cord in his room and broke his leg. First a broken leg, then pnoemonia, then his body began shutting down. It all happened within a few weeks. My grandpa was one of the most amazing people I have ever met. He was so sweet, innocent, caring, thoughtful, and funny! Some of my favorite memories of my grandpa are that he shared my love of doughnuts especially apple fritters and whenever he knew we were coming to visit he would buy like five apple fritters just for me! He also loved apple beer (its not real beer). I remember one time we were having a get together and we were all talking and we asked my grandpa something and he didn't respond... his eyes were open and all but no response... finally someone yelled GRANDPA and he reaches down and picks his hearing aids up off the table and says what did someone say something? LOL Hillarious!
I love you Grandpa! You are greatly missed but I know that you are in a better place and that you are watching over all of us.

Next up... On June 6 I met the love of my life and best friend Ben Weber. For those who don't know how we met... read on. I have a friend Angela who's married to Luther who is Ben's brother. Angela and Luther invited me to go to a drive in with them and said it was just a bunch of friends hanging out. On the other side they invited Ben and told them they were setting him up on a date... So Luther and Angela come to pick me up and then say ok lets go get Ben. I'm like ok whatev... so I'm sitting in the truck and this handsome curly haired blonde guy gets in and sits next to me and this amazing aroma fills the truck so what do I say??? WOW you smell amazing and he says Hi my names Ben.... sigh!!! We totally hit it off we stayed out until about three in the morning and we were talking and laughing the entire time! (I swear Ang will vouge for me) I saw Ben the next day well actually a few hours later at a friends farewell and Ben got my number and well thats just the beginning.... Ben is so amazing! I honestly don't know what I would do without him. He has helped me become a better person. He loves me for all my craziness and I love him dearly. He is such a sweetheart, so patient, so thoughtful and caring. He is my world and my absolute favorite. He means everything to me. I love you Ben!

In July we had an open house for my brother who was getting married. They got married in Ohio so we had an open house in Utah so that everyone here could celebrate with them. It was a blast. We had it in our backyard and it was a party! It was so much fun! Instead of gifts people were just asked to give gift cards or money.... GENIUS! They made bank LOL no I"m serious they did!
In August Trevor (my bro) and Amy were married in Ohio! It was a beautiful amazing wedding! It was a Catholic wedding and I was in the wedding party. It was a whole new experience for me but it was really cool. My brother is so happy and we love our new family addition Amy :D After the ceremony there was a fabulous dinner and I had to get up and say a little somethin somethin and then it was PARTAY time! We were dancing until about midnight! What a blast!

This was not the only wedding of the year though! One of my really good friends Emily got married as well! I am so happy for her! I don't know the guy to well but he seems like a great guy and Emily is definitly happy! Her wedding was beautiful as well and so original and unique. She did wonders with the cultural hall at the church! FYI - Emily's wedding is the 5th wedding I have been a part of. I love being part of such a special day and I am greatful for the opppurtunity!)

Well that about wraps up 2008. I definetly was not able to cover everything that would have been a whole book! 2008 was an amazing year though and I am so excited for whats to come in 2009!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Sledding!

Ben, Morgan, Cheyenne, and I have been wanting to go sledding for a while now but because of colds we haven't been able to :( Finally the day came and everyone was feeling well. So we bundled up and headed off for our adventure. We assumed that one of us had some sleds. None were to be found except broken ones so we thought no biggie we will go buy some new ones... NEWS FLASH: Christmas + Huge Snow storm = NO SLEDS!

Finally after calling different places we found some. They only had one kind left and they were the cheap plastic kind. But thats ok! So we headed to the golf course. There were tons of hills! Ben and I sat on a sled and started to take off... and then the sled slipped out from under us and we stopped! Same thing happened to Morgan and Cheyenne. The snow at this part of the course had not been patted down well yet.

So we headed to a different part and WE HAD A BLAST! We were zoomin down the hill, tipping over, knockin into people! Loved it! A snowboarder zoomed past my head while I was making a snow angel. His board went right over where my angel head was. If I hadn't of moved eye yi yi.

It was so much fun! I love sledding! I can't wait to go again! I can't manuever very well by myself but Ben and I make a great team we were flying down the hill!

Christmas ... and more...wink wink

Christmas was way fun this year! I kinda was a little behind on the whole presents thing but it all turned out well! I was wrapping presents five minutes before they opened them LOL I made Ben some PJ's for christmas... they are red and really soft :D I wish I had a picture I will try and get one. He kinda looks like Santa on a diet without a beard... you get the idea.

My cute grandma who has alzeihmers ( I can't spell it) had been asking to open her presents like a week before christmas and my grandpa kept telling her NO! Too cute! This is my grandma with her coat on that she got for christmas

Thanks to Morgan we got up early to open presents then we had a fun brunch at my house and played games and such until... the power went out. So then we went back to my grandparents house to watch a movie and eat some more. Then it was off to Ben's house. We watched a movie and spent some time with his fam.

Well that night we dropped off Ben's brother Mitch's friend. He lived just around the corner. Well as you all might remember there was a crazy snow storm that night. Well we decided that we would be fine taking my car instead of Ben's dad's truck... NOT! We got stuck in a ditch. After working on it for about an hour with Ben's dad and brothers we decided to just leave it for the night. As we are pulling out a tow truck comes up and says he needs to do his good deed for the year so... he pulled my car out! So then we get going and we turn a corner, Ben's driving, and we start sliding and Ben has it under control and then my car slowly drifts again and into a car in the right turning lane. So we get out and the guy gets out and is all eff this blah blah blah.. I was like ok enough it's christmas take a chill pill. He wouldn't call the police blah blah blah... he was a wierdo. Anyways... this whole time Ben's house is literally like five houses away. Suck a duck ya know what I'm sayin! So finally the police man come's and he gave no on a ticket thank goodness so its no ones fault. oh and get this... the guy that we hit said it was a rental car and he didn't have insurance on it..... wow.... wow wow.

Anyways... so now my car has a crack on its taillight cover which will cost about $200 to replace...eye yi yi.

But I did have a fabulous Christmas needless to say! It was so much with Ben! He is so amazing! I love it! I wish the rest of my family could have been here but I enjoyed the ones who were here!Here is a photo my mom had us take for our christmas card .... and the one below it is mine and ben's that we wanted to put on a card but ran out of time :D

When one door closes another one opens... bigger and better :)

So as of monday I lost my job. Yes I was another victim to this stupid economy goodness going on lately. They gave me no notice no nothing and then they wouldn't pay me for last week but I won that battle! :D Dont mess! Luckily I was planning on leaving this job anyways so for the past month or so I have been applying at all sorts of places.
Right after I get off the phone aruging with some stupid lady about what hours I worked I'm crying to Ben (bless his heart) and my phone rings and it's Discover Card asking me for an interview! So after five hours at discover card...lots of papers, drug test, follwing people finger prints, and picture for a badge I was hired!!! YAY! I start on January 12, 2009! I will be working in the mornings. Medical and dental benfits start the first day along with 90% tuition reimbursement! YAY! So I'm really excited!
Unfortunately Ben is still stuck in his crappy job so we are working on getting him something new :) I hope soon. He's amazing though so I am sure he will get an amazing job :D And no matter what I love him dearly.
So for the next 3 weeks I'm doing the home thing and just getting lots of nick nackish stuff done. Trying to save money not spend a lot even though its the holidays! So thanks to BEN for all his support as well as my fam!

Neglecting my blog....

Yes I'm still alive and have A TON of things to write about but literally NO TIME! I'm going a million miles a minute from 6 am on! Hopefull this weekend I will have some time to give you all a jumble of an update and fun stories... Birthdays, Halloween, Thanksgiving, DC, Weddings, Lava Hot Springs and so on!

Amazing Ben! !

I had the most amazing weekend!!! Ben took me on a date pretty much all of Saturday! He didn't tell me where we were going so I had no idea. He took me to the UTES football game!!! He also took my little sister Morgan with us as well so that was way fun! It was so funny because I was already wearing red and black because I try and dress up when the UTES are playing so I was ready for the game!!! The game was awesome UTAH kicked some trash! It was such a good game! Loved it!!!
So then that night we are just sitting in the backyard chillin and Ben says oh its time for our date Linds! I'm like what the?
He took me to the Drive In movies!!! I didn't even know they were still open! For all that don't know the Drive In's are where it all started with Ben and I :D It was our first date and we both loved it! No we did not make out sicko's!
LOL anyways I thought that our date(s) were very thoughful and so cute! I loved every second of it!

ESTROGEN??? Theres got to be a reason for this craziness...

Ok so on the side of my desk in plain view is a paper that says "rtemp Lindsey Parry". I went through a temp agency so they can't hire me till my time is up with the agency but they will be hiring me at the first of November. Anyways so RTEMP stands for Records Temp. So I'm sitting at my desk doing my work as usual and my purse is on my desk. This random lady walks by and whispers to me pointing to my purse " You might want to put away somewhere so things don't get stolen" and I"m like ok sure thanks will do. Then she proceeds to tell me (who knows why?) that at her old job while they were all in a meeting someone took all the money and cell phones out of the purses sitting out. So then she says "we hire a lot of temps here and I don't think they do a very good background check on them. We don't know what kind of people we are letting in here so its best we all be careful..."
So I say thanks without busting into uncontrollable laughter and fall on the floor and she goes on her merry way...
So do we not hire people with a background check on reading and awareness as well???
Hilarious... it makes my days so flippin funny!

Hey kids Story Time Miss Lindsey needs to go to court and talk to the Judge...its a long one!

So... about two months ago or so I got in a wreck. This lady in front of me SLAMMED on her brakes for no reason! So I tried to swerve but I still hit her. She drives off! Ben was following me in another car so I pull over and he goes after her. I talk to a pedestrian and she's like " what the crap was that lady doing?" I was like I do not know. I look at my BRAND NEW 2008 Mazda 3 and the front bumper is all screwed up... I'm paying a lot of money for this car so I'm TICKED! So finally I find Ben down the street a bit. He comes walking up gives me a hug and says the lady is over there ... be nice. I was like what? I was planning on going over there and being like hey I'm really sorry I hit you lets figure this out.. ya know.
So I go walking over and this (trashy trashy trashy) lady comes up and is like "Are you the person who ran into me?!" I say yes. She goes " What the F--- F--- you you effin tail gater blah blah blah..." I'm like OH HELL NO!!! So I get in her face and I was pissed. I was yelling... bad. Who the hell does she think she is?! So Ben pulls me away and we walk off. Mitch gave her a dirty glare... Love ya Mitch! So the police officer finally shows up and he was really laid back... like didn't even want to be there just wanted to go home which pissed me off in this situation.
Anways so I'm writing my report accident thing and we are kinda near BIZNATCH and she's filling out the paper too and it asks "Were you wearing a seatbelt?" and she's all "ya I was wearin a seatbelt good thing too or else I would have been out the front windshield!" I almost punched her I'm serious I've never been so ticked! So Ben... Love him so much! Took me further away from stupid head...Later I found out Mitch was giving her a dirty look the whole time!!! LOL Awesome Mitch. Ben is being so cool about this the whole time BTW he's so amazing. Stays calm hugs me talks to me. Even though I'm ready to kill. So the officer gave me and the lady a citation... me for improper lookout ... her ... get this... NO INSURANCE!!! Hello impound her freaking car!!! Are we all idiots!!!??? Seriously?! Is that not the law!? ok so anyways on my ticket it didn't say that I owed anything it was just a warning. So just to make sure I called and checked online every day for the fourteen days it tells you and they had no record of my ticket... So I didn't have to pay anything ... right? WRONG! Who knew?!
About a month or so later....
I get a notice in the mail saying that $50 has been added to my ticket as a late fee and if I don't pay it they are going to put out a warrant for me... LOL What the crap? What game are they trying to pull here?! So I call and long story short make a COURT appointment. So I go... I have to go into an actual courtroom with a real judge and an officer to make sure I don't get out of hand!!! Sheesh! Is this where my tax dollars are going? Oh heck no!
So I walk in take a seat and the judge is all "Ms. Parry I really have no tolerance for waiving late fees especially when a person is just plain lazy about it so unless you have really good excuse this isnt' going to happen." What a jerk. So I proceed to tell him my story and then he interupts me and is like "Lets talk about the accident. Did you or did you not run into the back of someone?" I say "yes I did." He says " Can you pay your ticket fee right now if I waive the fee?" I say "yes" he says " you can?" " yes I can pay my $120 ticket today" ..... " ok well Ms. Parry I'm contradicting myself but I'm going to waive your late fee"...
So I go out to pay it and the girl tells me that the late fee is still on my record and I have to wait 15 minutes for it to be removed....


Idiots... so sick of them.... I was on the verge of hurting someone... I felt like my brain shrunk througout this whole process... I am really glad I fought for it though! Saved me $50!

Blonde Moment...LMAO!

So... I admit... I am not totally up to date on this "text lingo" crapola ok. So I have a friend who shall remane nameless for the sake of privacy...LOL I'm on a roll call me butter... ok ok sorry so I have a friend and when she texts me sometimes she writes "LMAO" at first I thought she was just spelling Lame-O wrong and then I thought to my smart little self "maybe she's saying lame-O different. So for about a week or two now anytime I think somethings lame I have been saying " Elle em eh O" and Ben has just sorta laughed and been like whatever linds. Well the other day I said it and he's like Linds why do you keep saying that? I said I dunno new way to say "Lame-O cool huh?" He's like where did you get that from? I'm like Brooke texts it to me sometimes... then Ben get this look the oh I love my girlfriend but I think her brain is fried at times. Ok he probably doesn't think that he's just like oh boy... linds... linds linds. So he proceeds to tell me that "LMAO" means Laughing My Ars Off.... WHOOPS! LOL
I'm like what ok whatever I still like saying it so for everyone else "LMAO" means one thing but for me its just another way of saying somethings lame ... ok!

Funny Thing Happened at Work Today... Too much Estrogen?

So... as you all may or may not know I work at Western Governors University. I am in the records department and I do the incoming transcripts. It's a pretty fast pace type of job. It definetly keeps me busy. I like it. I love telling Ben all my stories from work. He laughs and says "oh linds so much estrogen flying around your work it's hillarious!" It makes ME laugh because I never would have thought of some of these events as being "girly".
So... I went into the break room to make some soup for lunch. Ok well open the can, put it in a bowl, and then microwave it. Anyways... so I had brought some styrofoam bowls to put it in. Well first of all sorry I need to back track. I forgot a can opener so I had to find one in the break room and I did but it was kinda a how do you say it... disfunctional can opener. Ya thats the word. So instead of just turning the handle and it opening the can I had to just keep pressing it into the can sort of like scissors. Good stuff. ANYWAYS... so I am about to put it in my bowl and this girl mid twenties or so comes running over and says DO NOT PUT YOUR SOUP IN THERE! I'm very surprised I didn't jump and spill my precious can of soup all down the front of here... geez lady calm down! So I say to her why not? And she starts flipping out and talks to me for about ten minutes about how when styrofoam or plastic gets hot the chemicals from it seep into whatever is in the bowl, bottle, etc. and it can give you CANCER! Apparently... she says thats how a certain rockstar lady don't remember her name died because she left her water bottle in her car it got warm and then she drank the water and she got cancer. What the heck? So she found me a non plastic non styrofoam bowl supposedly and says sorry I'm not trying to tell you what to do I just don't want YOU to get cancer....

??? Estrogen + Looking at a computer too long + OCD + breakroom = CRAZINESS!!!

True Love

These past few days... or maybe I should say 2 1/2 months I have learned what true love is. If you ask anyone what is true love we can all have some sort of answer ... and they are all right. But do we really understand really comprehend what true love is? I know I had my ideas about it and what it should be like but until a very special person came into my life I don't think that I fully understood what it is.
My boyfriend Ben I believe is a great example of what true love is. I can be a very difficult person. I don't try to be I don't want to be but I've learned that at times I can be very difficult. Past experiences in my life... relationship wise.... have not been the best. A few years ago I used to think that a true loving relationship was the best thing in the world... until I had a few. From those relationships I just thought that this whole true love thing was something that maybe I just wasn't ever going to have in my life. Ridiculous I know! I had been hurt and then I got over it and then I was just plain bitter. Figured all guys who came into my life were pretty much the same... DIRTBAGS! I would give anyone a chance but I KNEW in the end that they would be jsut like the rest.... I WAS WRONG!!! Something amazing happened to me.... Ben Weber entered my life.
I have realized that I sometimes get upset about stupid non important things. They end up turning into a fight somehow and then I look back and realize that there is no reason to really be upset. Ben has taught me that there are much more important things in life then worrying about little things that won't matter in five minutes unless we let them.
I am trying very hard to not get upset about little things. I honestly don't know why I do it and its very frusterating. Because of past experiences I've gotten used to people saying that they cant' take it and telling me I have mental issues and then leaving. Ben will never leave me and I will never ever leave Ben. Ben has taught me that you work through things,you talk, you compromise, you work it out. In the end we become a stronger couple and we realize that our love for each other has grown because we worked through things.
No matter what... no matter how stubborn, how rude, how ridiculous I am... Ben always makes sure that I know that he loves me. That has got to be really hard. I love Ben no matter what but he is not difficult and stubborn and rude. He is humble, patient, and kind. He has shown me that no matter what he will be there for me and he will always love me.
I don't know if this makes sense to any of you but I have learned what the true meaning of true love is. I am so blessed. I really think that I am the luckiest girl in the world. Ben has brought out the best in me and has helped me to be a better person. I love Ben so much. He means the world to me. We are perfect for each other. We have so much together. I can tell Ben anything. Things that I can't tell anyone else. He is my best friend and I am truly, deeply, madly in love with him. I am excited to see what the future holds and I can't wait for all the adventures we are going to have. He is amazing... and once again I am the luckiest girl in the world.
