Garden!

I few weeks ago I bought some berries plants. Today Ben bought me a wooden pot to put them in along with a Topsy Turvy Strawberry planter

I also got a starter kit that holds up to 50 seeds. We bought tomato seeds and pea seeds. I'm hoping to get started on everything tomorrow and hopefully have pics up soon!

Salt Lake City Half Marathon

We did it! Yahoo!!! On Saturday April 17th we completed the Salt Lake City Half Marathon. It was an amazing experience and I recommend everyone do one at least once in your life!
It was a perfect day for the run! Not too hot not too cold. So glad it wasn't snowing!
To start off the day we got up around 4:30 am and met Dad and Mom Parry, Morgan and Jason at the Gateway then we took trax up to the U where the starting point was. There were crazy lines for the bathrooms that I need to remember next time to take pictures of. We were able to see the very start of the wheelchair race...I can't believe they do all those miles with their arms wow very neat and inspirational!
After some stretching and of course the official start horn we were off.
My mom and I are close to the same pace we stayed together until about Mile 4.
They had many bathroom and drink stops along the way. My parents had given us fanny packs with energy bars and beans and I had some energy blocks that I brought.
There were so many people all along the route they gave such great encouragement I don't think anyone could do it without them. They yell at you and tell you to keep going it's great! The final 3 miles or so are coming up state street and its a pretty steep hill after you've ran 10 miles. We all found that it actually hurts more to walk than to run at that point. The last mile or so is coming up to the gateway and down the main street. There are tons of people and cameras it's awesome!
Karlie and her mom were also waiting at the finish line to cheer us on!
Ben came in at 2:28 which is amazing and I did 2:57 which isn't too bad for our first time.
Morgan came in at 2:45 My mom at 3:07 they both did the half also.
Jason and Dad came in at about 4:10 for the full marathon...WOW!
Ben wants to just keep doing halfs I want to do the full marathon next year! YES!
If you want to go to this website (www.marathonfoto.com) you can put in our last names and bib #'s:
Ben 4018 Linds 4020
I have to buy their pics and I am going to buy one for Ben and I but I can't post them on here.. it won't let me and apparently thats against the law or something?
Anways here's some pics I took:
Getting ready to start:

Ben and Linds after the run:

All the family that ran with our t-shirts and medals:

Afterwards:
We went to lunch at TGIFridays even though none of us were to hungry. It's really weird that much running can make you kinda nauseated. Then we all went to our own seperate homes to relax.
On Sunday none of us could move. It was pain! Ben's muscles were hurting him, my joints, everyone was just a little bit sore. My ankles were pretty swollen. Oh ya they still are too! Dad's one foot was swollen pretty bad as well and is still healing.
Why all this pain? Is it worth it? YES! I can't wait for the next one!

Knock Knock ...

Today I (Lindsey) was in a really wierd mood. I'm sitting on the floor watching Ben put together our new bed side table thingy(see previous post) and decided maybe he would like to hear a knock knock joke while he's working hard. This is how it went:

Lindsey: Knock Knock.

Ben: Nothing

Lindsey: Babe I want to tell you a joke... KNOCK KNOCK

Ben: Who's there?

Lindsey: Bananas

Ben: Linds...

Lindsey: Babe please

Ben: Bananas who?

Lindsey: Knock Knock

Ben: Who's there?

Lindsey: Bananas

Ben: Bananas who?

Lindsey: Knock Knock

Ben: Who's there?

Lindsey: Orange

Ben: Orange who?

Lindsey: Orange you glad I didnt' say bananas

Ben: What? Linds. No. What? Stop

HAHAHAHAHAHA... Oh my gosh we could not stop laughing!

If you give a mouse a cookie...

If you take Linds and Ben to Ikea... they are going to want to buy a couch...and a bed frame...and new bedsheets.... and clean out their entire closet... and make a flipping mess out of their apartment... and realize they have way too much stuff... one day they may need it though so its a matter of storing it in their apartment somewhere...
In the midst of all this I have locked myself out of the apartment twice yes 1,2, TWICE in the past like week all while ben is at work till midnight and I have to work at jetblue(from home) luckily my momma works for jetblue and I was able to go over there :D
Anywhoo... so yes we bought a new couch and a really awesome bed frame and new sheets and comforter! I'll have to post pics later. We also decided to try and get a little more organized which ended up being a HUGE project! I mean HUGE! Holy guacamole we have a ton of Stuff!
I tried to take on all of this while Ben was at work and got frusterated and realized I needed help. Ben came home to our mattress on the floor and our old bedframe blocking the doorway to our bedroom because I couldn't get the screws out but I wanted to move it! Ya...Ben is so patient with me. I love him so very much!

Chicken Parmigiana with Fresh Tomato Sauce

What you need:
1/3 cup grated parmesean cheeese
1 pkt shake n bake extra crispy
4 small boneless chicken breast halves
1 small onion chopped
1/4 cup Italian Dressing
2 Tomatoes chopped
2 Tbsp chopped basil
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Heat Oven to 400F Add Parmesean to coating mix in shaker bag; shake gently to combine. Coat Chicken with Parmesean mixture, then bake as directed on package.
Meanwhile cook onions and dressing in large skillet on medium- high heat 4 min or until onions are crisp-tender. Stir in tomatoes; cook 2 to 3 min or until heated through, stirring occasionaly. Stir in basil. Keep warm.
Top chicken with sauce and cheese.

Lindsey's two cents:
About 2 minutes before taking the chicken out of the oven put the mozzarella cheese on top so it can melt.
We had it with a tossed salad: romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, feta cheese (LOVE IT), and crispy onions!
It was super easy and extremely tasty!

Tuesdays Top Ten thats really on Monday

I know I know way late for last week but way early for this week right???
Top Ten Random/whats new with us :)
1- Half Marathon is in just under 2 weeks away we are now just in the process of letting our legs rest and not doing any more long runs until the half marathon. SO EXCITED! It's going to be great!
2- School is freaking crazy! We took online classes because we couldn't figure out when to actually go over to the school... you still have to spend time doing your classes even if they are online... duh! We have one class at the school which we hardly ever go to because we just watch movies. We have about 1 more month to go of this semester.
3- I have 2 more classes to take until I get my Associates! WOOHOO! (If I don't completely fail this semester :P) and Ben is pretty close as well!
4- Ben's looking into going into the Police Academy. It's nice if you can get a sponser but if not we may just go through SLCC. :)
5- Ben started his new schedule at work ... so we pretty much worked opposite shifts last week... SUCKED!!! But this week should be better I was able to jiggle my work schedule a little bit.
6- Ben got an email about an amazing cruise deal to the Bahamas in September so... We bought it! YAY! I can't wait we are looking forward to it! We need a vacation!
7- Ben and I are also thinking about doing a medical assisting program together (yes and he still wants to do the police academy on top of this of course not at the same time so we'll see)I really want to do nursing but everywhere I've looked its a freaking long wait and I really want to get into the medical field so I'm doing this and then going from there. Ben wants to do it with me so that will be way fun! Not sure when we are starting though...either summer or fall.
8- Our fish Edgar died. We've had him for over a year, I think, Ben joked if he had died he wouldn't tell me just go buy me a new one, I'm pretty sure it was the same one. Ben flushed him down the toilet... I kinda think we should have buried him. But later that night Ben bought me a new fish and he's blue I haven't named him yet. I hope he doesn't feel weird living in Edgars old tank...
9 - Eat right for your blood type... I can't find a good website for it but the book is pretty sweet. I've been trying to live by it for the last week and I feel really good. We don't know what type of blood Ben is yet so he hasn't started to do it yet. Check it out very very interesting.
10 - New babies... Amy and Trev had a new baby Ava Morgan Parry in January and Karlie and Jason are due July 24th! YAY! None for me and Ben so don't even ask not for like another 5 years k! :)
Here's a cute picture of AVA!

And some Easter pics...
