Allstate...your in terrible hands

Video Courtesy of KSL.com

So I am furious! I just posted this post and it completely deleted it!
They found Ben's bike...it was part of a huge chop shop bust. This would have maybe been a good thing if we had been treated better
by Allstate and not misinformed and lied to about everything.
We were supposed to get the money for the bike over a week ago.
Allstate had told us since they were paying us out for the bike if the bike was found
it was now theirs.Ben got a call from the West Jordan police that they had found
his bike. After I got off work we went over to the chop shop. It was crazy they
found 12 vehicles at this one location. Trucks,Cars, Motorcycles anything you could think of.
I so wish I had taken a picture it was crazy! The police told us that they were having the vehicles towed that night
and that our insurance would pay for it. Which makes sense because technically Allstate told us it was their bike now.
The next day we are talking to Allstate and they say " No you don't get your money for the bike its actually 30 days
your screwed blah blah blah" WE WERE FURIOUS! Needless to say since the motorcycle has been stolen our claims
lady has not returned ONE...NOT ONE of our calls! We understand that rules our rules but don't misinform people
and then screw them over GEEZ! Anyways so we find out we need to go pick up the motorcycle from the tow yard
Ben shows up a guy comes out and says it will be $480 in cash to take the motorcycle. Apparently, Legally, they can charge
up to $150 an hour to tow it and Apparently it was around an 8 hour tow?! Is this making sense to anyone?
Ben looks around see's all the other motorcycles stolen and asks why no one else has came to pick them up.
Oh, Because no one can afford it! So we call our Allstate agent and they say " Well we can take that $480 off of your
$1000 deductible...thanks for choosing Allstate!" Oh no, Thank you Allstate that helps so much you guys are great!
Like hell you are... Anyways like I said we understand rules are rules but it would have been nice to have known the rules
oh well what can you do? So Ben picked up the bike from the tow guy (btw another guy showed up to pick up his bike..$40 WTC?)
A lawyer whose motorcycle was stolen also showed up and now the state will be suing the tow truck drive for charging
so much and they shouldn't have been charged ... period! So this has all been fine and dandy we can't wait for it
to be over! Right now the bike is being looked over to see how much damage has been done...
I'll keep y'all posted.
Everythings going to be just fine... :)

Season for an Attitude of Gratitude

Ben's motorcycle was stolen on Thursday night. He went to walk me out to my car to go to work and we realized it was gone ... we began to FREAK OUT! This was really just one more thing that we did not need to happen right now. We had no idea what was going to happen with the insurance and such. I immediately called my mom (at 530 in the morning) and told her what had happened. She told me that what usually happens is they have 30 days to find it and then the insurance pays us for what the bike was worth. Ben later got in touch with the insurance company and they confirmed this. I can't tell you how in so many ways this was such a blessing. There are so many things that we will be able to do with that money! The one thing thats not so great about all this is that we feel a little violated and I just can't believe how stupid people can be. They scratched up my car when they stole it. Little did they know that this was a huge blessing.
Want to hear the crazy part...? We have the bike almost paid off and once it was paid off we were going to have the insurance canceled on it... we have been so close to paying it off and it just hasn't worked out. The bike has been such a burden to us lately we couldn't figure out what to do with it and now ... ITS GONE!Coincidence? I don't think so. This has definitely taught us to look for the good in situations because you just never know how much of a blessing it might be.

Halloween and Bike Ride

Yay for Halloween! We went to Odyssey Dance Theatres production of THRILLER! Ben is such a good sport! We are so lucky this year and last to be able to buy tickets 2 for 1 the day of! We decided to grab a bite to eat go get the tickets and then eat at the park before the show starts.
We also dressed up! I was the green mm and Ben was a rough bike rider. We met my family there as well... Morgan was a cowgirl and my dad was elvis, my mom had crazy hair but no one else really dressed up but thats ok!
As part of Thriller they have these crazy girls that walk around and get in your face and are all scary! They love getting their picture taken though! Its crazy how in character they stay! Morgan kept saying to them "hi cutie" and they didn't crack a smile...LOL
The performance was pretty dang good! I've seen it a few years in a row now. My favorite dance is either Thriller or Dem Bones. I was nominated to be in the costume contest... I didn't even make it in the top 5! I totally forgot to wear my white gloves with 4 fingers. I'm sure if I wore them I would have made it in the top 5! oh well!

On Sunday we visited with Ben's fam which was a lot of fun his brother, sister in law, and niece were here from Wyoming. I don't have any pics unfortunately :( We had fun just visiting and playing with Alexis (niece) she has such an attitude!

On Monday I had the day off from work (finally took some PTO before it expires) and Ben was off as well. My dad and mom actually were off that day too taking some vacation time as well. They invited us to go on a bike ride with them, Jason, and Peggy (Jason's mom in law). They are really into bike riding lately and have really cool bikes and outfits. Ben and I wanted to be cool like them so we improvised and made our own cool biker outfits! Needless to say it was a way fun weekend!

Whats New?

Today I am trying to do a little catching up on the blog...good stuff
Ok so whats new with Ben and I and what have we been up to since we got married?
Well Ben was working for a terrible company for about a month before our wedding... while on our honeymoon they actually called him into work and then when we got home they came looking for him and were going to call the police all because of a tiny misunderstanding... their main form of communication is through text... need I say more...
As I said he was working for them and when we got home and all this happened he is no longer! Yay! Well for about a week Ben applied for many jobs. Then one day three places called him back! He was offered two of the jobs... the one was an automated call thing and it was lame. Ben turned one of the jobs down. The owner of the job that Ben turned down called Ben back and offered him some amazing benefits if he would just come and try them out for a week before he decided what job to take... Including getting paid while "trying it out" Who gets that kind of an oppurtunity??? AMAZING! So things are going well.
Ben has some amazing ideas too... He really wants to get into real estate but has a unique approach. He has some great business ideas. Neither one of want to work for THE MAN for the rest of our lives. Ben is so smart I'm always excited to see what he's going to come up with next!
As for me I'm still working at Discover Card which gets a tad tiring somedays and irriating. I work in 90 day collections so I call (stalk) people who have not paid their bill for three months... I get yelled at a lot its not depressing at all. Its a good job though. I have some issues with it but hey... its a paycheck for now right?
Back in June I was offered a job that I have been wanting forever... jetBlue Airways! My mom works there and I've been wanting to work there! I actually applied in December 08 and they were on a hiring freeze but then they called me and I was hired! I get to work from home, Ben and I fly for free we get discounts on hotels, cruises, rental cars... its going to be FABULOUS!!!
The only thing is now I have to figure out how to do Discover and jetBlue... Discover are kinda being not so nice ... they say they are but ... eh...
Anywhoo... thats where we are at right now so we will see what happens! We have so many oppurtunities and we feel so blessed! We are so excited for the many adventures to come!

The Wedding

So... here's a semi sweet and short version of one of the best days of our lives!
I am so glad we chose not get sealed until later in the morning because I had to be at the hair place at seven and if it had not been earlier... HOLY CHICKEN... no way no way no way. But my stylist was amazing my hair was GORGEOUS! I don't know how she did it and it did not move all day!
Amazingly I actually got done a little early and we were able to sort of relax for about oh 30 minutes. Then it was off to the temple we had to be there like two hours early... eye yi yi! It was so busy I honestly don't remember how many weddings they said were going on that morning but it was in the hundreds! While I was in the bridesroom getting ready with my mom one of my friends came in from Jr. High and she had just been married! It was so fun to see her and so random! The ceromony was absolutely beautiful... thats all there is to say about that. Afterwords we came out and took pictures for about oh two - three hours!!! I got burned on my neck and we were so beat! The pictures turned out amazing though! Our photographer was FANTASTIC! I'm going to try and put a slide show or something up soon! If you need a good photographer please let me know she's the best! When we finally got to the luncheon Ben and I had pretty much had it... LOL we were ready to go to sleep! For real! But we had some delicious food which helped get us ready for the rest of the day! After some more amazing and fun pictures we had a ring ceremony in the backyard area of the reception hall. It was so fun and beautiful! Ben's Uncle Allen conducted and gave us some advice as well as telling everyone how we met. Then Mitch and Morgan (Maid of Honor and Best Man) gave a little speach... It was Awesome! Morgan talked about how I was good at showing my emotions and Ben was good at helping me control them... LOL LOL LOL she also said some other sweet things and Mitch gave a short but sweet and very Mitch like congrats to us.
After words we headed back inside with what was supposed to be a fun and dance filled evening... needless to say our DJ was terrible and I'd rather not talk about it at the time thats for another post another day. Ben and I did do a way fun wedding dance though! We did the cake cutting and I thought Ben and I had agreed to do it nicely but apparently not... It got down my dress but no worries I got him too! We had very sugary faces the rest of the night!
About an hour into the reception Ben and I were tired again....
we actually decided to leave about twenty minutes early. It was amazing though as we walked out the doors everyone had lit sparkers and were holding them in the air to make a little archway type thing for us! SO COOL! Anywhoo... we stayed at the Anniversary in for two nights before our honeymoon in two different rooms! It was amazing and so fun the honeymoon was fantastic as well!

Quote of the Week

As some of you may know I teach a dance class once a week full of little preschoolers. I have a few that have quite a bit of "spirit". One of my favorites is Katelyn who cannot hold still for one second. On Monday I said "ok girls show me that your ready to do your dance" everyone puts their hands on their hips and they are quiet and then theirs katelyn whos trying to lick her chest. I say "Katelyn does not look like she's ready" Then without looking at me she says... "I'm ready when you're ready Miss Lindsey"

Why thank you Katelyn.
WOW! Love it!

Eye yi yi!

So I'm writing a quick up to date blog before I head for a long nap! So much has been going on lately! The wedding planning is going great! Almost everything is falling right into place! We pretty much have everything taken care of. We just need to ge the boys fitted for the tuxes and then we are good to go! We are so excited! Its taking forever to get here we should have set an earlier date! LOL Its been lots of fun though! A few stresses but it will all work out.
On the other hand we have had the longest week! We had midterms at school which went well. Our teachers aren't that great so thats frusterating. We are running a million miles a minute between work, school, dance, and families! Its great though! It finally caught up with me this weekend and I'm terribly sick as well as extremely moody. Great stuff. Poor poor Ben. He is being so patient with me.
Along with that we are getting hit up with money every which way! Apparently we didn't recieve the memo that we are rich! NOT! First of all we refinanced Ben's bike which is great becuase now we can get it paid off quicker! But because this loan is different we have to have full coverage insurance... on the bike its about $250! We also have not insured his new car yet so we need to do that ASAP! Also, in the mail on Thursday we get a letter from Enterprise stating that we owe them $1000 from the wreck back in December of which no one was at fault so we have to figure that one out. We recieved a parking ticket at the school. Ben didn't have sticker on his new car :( We also have my car registration coming up along with my dentist bill. It will all work out its just a bit much at the moment and I'm a tad on the verge!
Other than being sick and the stupid money situation though everything is going great! Ben is amazing and so patient! The other day we went to a park up at Ensign peak it was such a nice day it was so relaxing! Ben is kicking butt and working to get his ACI certification soon as well as applying for internships so keep your fingers crossed! We are having a blast getting ready for the wedding but we wish June 27 was tomorrow :D
Well that is our update and I'm off to sleep.

ENGAGED!!!

I don't think I will ever get sick of saying that until we are engaged and then I will love saying I'm married to the one and only amazing and all mine BEN WEBER! :D
Yup yup yup I'm engaged! And I am so excited! Its taken me quite a while to put a post up and I do apologize but I've been a tad busy! But first things first... the proposal.
Ben proposed on Valentines day... so cute and sweet! Let me give you a little background of the day. So Ben came over to my house about 10:30 am which is actually kinda late for us. I didn't understand why he was so late but didn't think too much of it. He asked me if I would go on a date with him around 5:30ish but wouldn't tell me what we were going to do. Then it was off to the car auction to buy Ben a car. Ya see he bought a motorcycle over the summer and everything was going ok until him and I had to go seperate ways to work and at different times. So we gathered some money and went to the car auction. It was a blast those of you who have not been just go even if you don't want to buy a car its just plain fun! The guy gets up and starts babbling it nuts! So we bought ben a '93 Audi for about $1000. Not bad! Well all day he was kinda acting funny. Just really out of it almost not really focused and then after he bought the car it got worse. Did I mention he was so out of it. I almost wanted to call off the date and just watch a movie with him or something because I was so worried about him. But Ben insisted that we go on a date. So we headed downtown to the Gateway. We went to a yummy pizza place in the food court its one of our favorites. Then we walked over to the family history museum which is quite a bit aways and it was cold. Then we sat in the library for about 45 minutes. Ben kept going to the bathroom and was really really really really out of it. I felt so bad. So then we walked over to temple square mind you this whole time I cannot figure out what is going on. So we get over there and we go to the visitors center up to the second level where the Christus statue is. I wanted to go sit down on a bench, I was beat! Ben wouldn't let me thought so we went over and stood by the statue and then Ben got down on one knee and pulled the ring out of his pocket. He said Linds I love you so much will you marry me. I of course said yes! We were both cryin a little. Happy and relieved tears :D It was amazing! The best night of my life so far! There were a few people watching and they congratulated us. Then we called my family and told them all about it!
So.. the reason why Ben was late in the morning he was trying to figure out how to propose. He kept going to the bathroom just because he was talking to his sister about everything.
Everything turned out amazing and we are so very happy and excited!
The date is June 27th Salt Lake Temple
