Hey..ey!

Do do da doo. When I was a little girl my response to the question "What do you want to be when I grow up?" Was "A doctor, a mom, a dancer, and work at McDonalds." Hahaha... Love it! I feel like I have the same answers now. I want to be a mom one day (please still don't ask I swear I'll had another 5 years to the time frame I have in my head) I miss dancing so much. I miss teaching dance and I miss performing. I don't want to be a doctor but I think I would enjoy being a nurse. Well I've been debating that a lot lately as well. Obviously the pay difference between a nurse and a CNA is great but I see what nurses do every day and I don't know if I would love it as much as I love being a CNA. I love the interaction I get as I CNA. As a nurse you don't do a ton of patient interaction and I think I would miss that. *I have a little chip on my shoulder about doctors today. Had some bad experiences. I really wish doctors were more people oriented sometimes* Anywho...I was really debating about going to school this semester and right when the semester started my grandpa passed and we flew out to Utah for the funeral. Along with some debt we are trying to pay off I decided I needed to take this semester off to really get focused so I can do well if I decide to go.
So right now I still work at Sanford as a CNA. I am also working for Dakota Travel Nurse as a CNA. I have my first shift with them on Saturday. Its basically on call work (pay is really nice) I just let them know what shifts if any I want to pick up at different locations. I've also been in touch with a dance studio here is Bismarck about teaching at the studio and hope to hear back from them soon. Awhile back I also applied at Golds Gym and I have an interview with them tomorrow to work in the child care.
Am I Crazy? I think so...but I'm not the one who married me! HA!

What are y'all's experienced opinions? Who wants to just figure out a plan for me? :D

St. George Marathon

Well Saturday was the St. George marathon. We headed down Friday around 130pm and met my family down there. We were staying with my aunt who has a huge house! We went to the expo to get our packets it was packed! They had different booths and fun stuff. Select Health had a place to get your sugar and cholesterol checked. I've been told before that I have a tendency to be hypoglycemic which means that my sugar gets really low really quick and its hard to stabilize it. I got my sugar checked and the lady asked me when the last time I ate was. I had basically snacked the whole way down and had some pretzels and Gatorade before we left to the expo. She said that not to be worried but that my sugar would probably be high because of that...guess what it was??? 60. Its supposed to be at least 80...eek! That totally freaked my mom out and she was glad that we had decided to run together. After the expo Mom P, Dad P, Ben and I, and my Aunt Kumja went to Outback Steakhouse for dinner. My aunt is hilarious  They gave her this crab dip and she made this funny disgusted face it was so funny! Then we went back to the house and got all of our stuff ready for the race. Then we tried to go to sleep because we had to wake up at 4am ..ugh. We all got up got ready ate some breakfast and drove to the bus pickup. We got on the bus and went for quite a ride up the mountain. Mind you its pretty early in the morning but one girl on our bus talked loudly about her personal life the whole freaking time then... the bus stops and everyone stands up to get off and she looks at my dad and goes to touch his chest and is like "Do you have nipple rings?!" My dad's like excuse me? And this lady behind me is like "Do you always ask such personal questions?! My dad has nib guards because when your running it can make guys really sore and even bleed. My hell some people are insane! Who does that?! Then we get off the bus and it is freezing! Oh my gosh so cold! We had old hoodies and stuff to wear! Then as we are walking we lose my mom and dad. Talk about anxiety attack because I was going to run with my mom. While we were looking for them we found my really good friend who was actually my art teacher in high school and our parents are really good friends its crazy! She helped Ben and I find Mom and Dad P. We waited for an hour and a half two hours for the race to start. They had music playing and it was pretty fun but still freezing.

Starting Line.

Waiting for the race to start.

Freezing and my eyes are closed. Awesome!
Then they announced the race would be starting in about 10 minutes so we went to get lined up. They have what they call "Pacers" If you stay with them you will finish in the amount of time their flag says. Ben,Mom P, and I lined up with the 7 hours pacer. She was the last one and as long as you stayed in front of her they wouldn't kick you off of the race course. Then the race began! Oh this lady that was by my mom and dad said she got her nails done so in case they had to pick her up off the side of the road they would know she wasn't homeless...LOL! Anyways, the beginning of the race its always hard not to go super fast because you want to get out of the crowd and some people are running really fast and all the adrenaline its nuts! Well I lost Ben pretty quick but my mom and I stayed together about a mile or so in we took a bathroom break at one of the porter potties. I was wearing a fuel belt with water bottles on it and a pouch and after we started running again I realized I had lost 2 of my water bottles! Dang! Well from then on it went pretty good my mom and I had an awesome pace and we were making some great time. She kept me entertained by telling me about a book she had read. Around mile 7 there was a humongous hill that we walked it was so intense but then we started running again. We felt great and still had an awesome pace! Around mile the ball of my feet started to hurt and I could feel some hot spots on the sides of my feet. I tried to keep going but then the pain got worse and I began to limp. My mom was getting worried because if you start limping you start hurting other parts of your body By mile 13 I was in tears because of the pain and I did not want to give up I was angry at myself for not training and I really wanted to finish. My mom explained it wasn't worth it to keep going one because of my limping I was slowing down and might not finish in the 7 hours and two if I kept going I would make the injuries worse maybe even permanent so despite serious hesitation and anger I got on the first aid bus. My mom kept going and everyone else finished which is awesome!!! When the bus dropped me off at the finish line I took off my compression socks and I had huge I mean huge water blisters on my feet so I must have stopped at the perfect time. My dad said that he thinks it was the best marathon he has ever ran which is crazy he didn't even train and he went back 4 miles once he finished and ran to the finish with my mom. Everyone was exhausted so we went back to the house took showers and my aunt made us the most amazing lunch/dinner it was perfect! That night we had all bought tickets to Tuachans production of Hairspray. Everyone agreed it was one of the best shows we have ever seen and the enviroment was amazing! All in all it was a fun experience but I will never not train again. I'm hoping to run the Utah Valley Marathon in June of 2013.

Willard Bay

We went to Willard Bay this past weekend with Ben's family and the Duffin family. It was a blast! We did the pedal boat, went tubing, and tried waterskiing/wakeboarding!
Here are some pics!

It was so funny with the pedal/paddle boat. It was so hard to steer. It took us forever to get back to where we started. We kept going in circles and then we would get caught in the wake from a boat and get stuck for a minute. Good times.

Funny for the day...Call centers gotta love 'em

As you know both of us work at a call center 1800contacts where people call in to order contacts... obviously. Well not so obvious because you would be surprised how many people call and say "can you give me the number to such and such place?" how do I answer that seriously? Or we get calls for Comcast and because people are out to kill Comcast apparently; after 20 minutes of chewing us out for a charge on there bill we are finally able to get out 2 words and say "this is 1800contacts" "oh sorry" click. Lame!
Anways so we have to be all customer service friendly happy lovely people. Don't know why but I'm always saying "ok perfect" after every answer they give me because the customer is always right... well some people believe it or not only have one eye for real and when they tell me this guess what comes out of my mouth "oh perfect"...silence.
Also we all know what an authorization is on our debit or credit cards correct? Its not an actual charge and once the charge goes through there is no longer an authorization. So I have this guy call in the other day and he demands I remove the authorization from his card.
-I say ok well do you still want your contacts?
-Yes but take of the authorization.
- If I call your bank and take off the authorization your order will be deleted since there was no payment.
-So I want you to take of the authorization.
- Ok do you want your contacts? Yes.
-Then you need to leave the authorization on there until the charge goes through.
- This should be illegal.
-Is there anything else I can do for you today?

People Are Awesome!

Two stories:
#1: In Ben and I's Geography class we have a wide range of different personalities. There is this girl and she apparently works at the Salt Lake Tribune in a very high up position or so she says. The other day in class the teacher is explaining how a globe or map is put into a grid system with the degrees, minutes and seconds. He goes on to show us a calculation if we were going 69 miles an hour and were to drive in a straight line around the world how long that would take us. It was just a fun theoretical thing he was throwing at us. Well Ms. Salt Lake Tribune blurts out "Thats not possible. You can't drive in straight line and there's water." Ben looks at me and I am like oh my gosh. It took everything I had not to say "are you serious? man, you should be the teacher!" I know that is probably really rude so all I said was " He was saying theoretically" and she gave me one of the nastiest looks ever it was Awesome!
#2: Today at my work we had a whole bunch of lovely prank callers. I don't know if it was just because of the holiday weekend or what but they were on the prowl. I was lucky enough to get one who's name was apparently Ilene Dover. Genius. Thats not the best part of this story though. I emailed my friend about this prank caller. Now my friend she is a very sweet girl but sometimes I worry about her and her thought process if you catch my drift. So, like I said I email her about my prank caller and about an hour later she emails me back and says... Hey, I got a prank caller too. Their name was Amanda Waffle, so I just hung up... I email her back saying I don't understand and her response is...Me neither so I just hung up.
HAHAHAHAHAHA! AWESOMENESS right there!

Penny Producing Pool

I know I know I know I need to get updates on here of everything going on but this story I have for you all is hillarious!!!! Oh wow!So the funniest thing happened today at the pool at our apartments. Ben and I love to dive for pennies down at the pool. We take a whole bunch of them and throw them all over and then see who can get the most pennies. So anyways, we are just chilling by the side of the pool talking and Ben is nonchalantly throwing the pennies in the pool. Keep in mind today we probably brought down around 50-70 pennies... gotta love it. Anyways, we see the maintenance guy coming so Ben stops throwing pennies. (he didn't see us throwing the pennies in the pool). He comes over to fix a filter or something and looks down at the pool, then he looks all over and we hear him mutter to himself "thats a shi*load of pennies down there". So then he yells to his co-worker "Bob, we're gunna need the vacuum there's a whole bunch of pennies in this pool and it's going to stain the bottom of the pool." HAHAHAHAHAHA... so Ben yells we can just grab them for you. So we do. And the maintenance guys are so grateful and are so helpful to point out where the pennies are for us to grab. Then , hold on tight this is the best part, after we have collected all of them the guy says "you guys can keep them if you want".... Ah thanks!!!
Freaking Hillarious! Ben and I were laughing so dang hard! Oh wow...good times! So we named our apartment pool the PENNY PRODUCING POOL.

Knock Knock ...

Today I (Lindsey) was in a really wierd mood. I'm sitting on the floor watching Ben put together our new bed side table thingy(see previous post) and decided maybe he would like to hear a knock knock joke while he's working hard. This is how it went:

Lindsey: Knock Knock.

Ben: Nothing

Lindsey: Babe I want to tell you a joke... KNOCK KNOCK

Ben: Who's there?

Lindsey: Bananas

Ben: Linds...

Lindsey: Babe please

Ben: Bananas who?

Lindsey: Knock Knock

Ben: Who's there?

Lindsey: Bananas

Ben: Bananas who?

Lindsey: Knock Knock

Ben: Who's there?

Lindsey: Orange

Ben: Orange who?

Lindsey: Orange you glad I didnt' say bananas

Ben: What? Linds. No. What? Stop

HAHAHAHAHAHA... Oh my gosh we could not stop laughing!

If you give a mouse a cookie...

If you take Linds and Ben to Ikea... they are going to want to buy a couch...and a bed frame...and new bedsheets.... and clean out their entire closet... and make a flipping mess out of their apartment... and realize they have way too much stuff... one day they may need it though so its a matter of storing it in their apartment somewhere...
In the midst of all this I have locked myself out of the apartment twice yes 1,2, TWICE in the past like week all while ben is at work till midnight and I have to work at jetblue(from home) luckily my momma works for jetblue and I was able to go over there :D
Anywhoo... so yes we bought a new couch and a really awesome bed frame and new sheets and comforter! I'll have to post pics later. We also decided to try and get a little more organized which ended up being a HUGE project! I mean HUGE! Holy guacamole we have a ton of Stuff!
I tried to take on all of this while Ben was at work and got frusterated and realized I needed help. Ben came home to our mattress on the floor and our old bedframe blocking the doorway to our bedroom because I couldn't get the screws out but I wanted to move it! Ya...Ben is so patient with me. I love him so very much!

Waiting for the gym to clear out..

This has got to be the most randomest blog that I have ever done...

There is one treadmill in our apartment gym and two ellipticals and they are all taken at 1 in the afternoon. I don't understand. I already get upset when someones on the treadmill anytime from 12-1 because thats when I watch Gilmore Girls while I'm running. Today I went down later because I did the ab ripper first...not trying to brag here its not like I did amazing with the ab ripper and I did all the reps or something... no I did not :) Oh and I am supposed to run 9 miles this weekend for the half marathon training so I HAVE to run today!

Thats ok though it gives me some time to blog while I'm waiting... yes I'm waiting until 2 and hopefully someone will be off the treadmill. Its better than that time on a Friday night when I went down there to run and there were a whole bunch of people having pretty much a party in the gym. I put in my headphones and just start running and they come in with chairs and beer and sit down in front of the TV and start watching sports... ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I had to run that night though so I sucked it up and as soon as I was done I didn't even cool down I just shut off the treadmill and walked out. Seriously people c'mon.

Ben and I don't know if its us or people lately but it just seems like people are nuts! Not in a good way. The other day we were doing self checkout at the store we were trying to purchase one item that was in box with a bar code. The scanner was not reading the bar code so then it wanted us to type in the #'s on the bar code, meanwhile there is a girl breathing down our neck and tapping her foot! Go to another eisle geez! She is so lucky I didn't slap her! My heck! As my mom would say bless her heart, "Linds, maybe her dad has cancer, her son is in a wheelchair and someone stole her wallet you don't know whats going on in her life." My mom is too cute. But, thats not what I thought I thought I want to maybe slap her she's probably all talk. I'm not usually a violent person but lately I've been thinking some people need a good something something once in a while.

Don't even get me started about driving! I have become kinda an agressive driver I guess and I'm working on it but when I'm in the slow lane and you are tail gating me there is no better way to really tick me off! Yes I admit I've even slammed on my breaks a few times to these people(don't worry I don't do it anymore I got in trouble with Ben and my mom, dad,Jason, and Karlie) Who am I to judge though... sigh... this has got to be the craziest thing I have ever done on the internet... yes this blog that I'm writing write now.

Oh and one more thing... we pay $10 every month for a parking spot at our apartments. Its the last one on the row and theres a spot next to it that has a sign that reads"NO PARKING UNLOADING ONLY". So apparently because people can't park there they park in our spot. Not just even a half and half sometimes they full park in our parking spot. We've complained many times to the management they gave us the tow truck companies number which we keep in the car. One of the tow truck guys told us that if their in the "No Parking" Spot an no one is in the car that we can call them to be towed. The other day I get home from work and I am in a rush because I have to be inside to work at jetBlue in like 5 minutes and there is a truck with a small trailer backed into our parking spot. No joke. My front bumper and their front bumper are like 5 feet away. This guy comes out and opens the door to the truck grabs something and starts walking away so I roll down my window and start saying hey, hey, excuse me! He completely ignores me and keeps walking! I'm not even kidding right now! So I call the tow truck company they tell me they have to verify what I've told them? Fifteen minutes later I get a call from them they say "We've verified that there is someone parked in that stall. What kinda of car do you drive?" I tell them. " Ok we just wanted to be sure it wasn't your car. We'll send someone out right now to tow it." What??? I have nothing to say to that ... wow...oh wow. That was nice of them to make sure I didn't call the tow truck company to have my own car towed out of my own parking space... HELLO PEOPLE GEEZ!

Oh ya! Ben and I went snowmobiling with my family a few weekends ago and last weekend we went to Vegas... still need to blog about all that. We made a video while we were in Vegas of our adventures so I need to wait until we get that edited and then I can post about our trip :)
Ben needs to get on here too and talk about how his new job is going he has some very interesting people he works with. Very interesting.
I have been in a really wierd mood lately so I hope this blog doesn't make anyone think bad of me. For those of you who know me well this is just me being me. And no I don't hate the world in fact I'm in a really good mood today and loving the sun that is shining and that Ben is going to be home in 1 hour!
I'm going to go see if that person is off the treadmill now.

Politics

Background: Ben and Linds sit down to watch Biggest Loser and realize on every channel its the state of the union address. A little while later...

Linds: Is the president elected every four years?

Ben: Yes. All of them are.

Linds: No some of them are elected every two years...

Ben: Which ones?

Lindsey eats popcorn

5 Minutes later...

Linds: Babe will you go get the laptop I want to know which ones are elected every two years

FYI Its the House of Representatives and the Senate :)

Oh no officer we were just doing Tae Bo...

Yes an experience that I never thought Ben and I would experience ... we had the police called on us the other night. We've been working out trying different exercises lately I love Tae Bo and I really wanted Ben to try it. So we did in our one bedroom upstairs apartment at 830pm on a Thursday night. Later that evening we are cooling down in the bedroom watching the news about 910pm and theres a knock at the door Ben goes to go get it I hear him talking to someone and then he yells "Babe can you yell that your ok?" So I yell out "I'm ok?" then unknown voice says "No I need to physcially see that she's alright." So Ben asks me to come out and I do to find a police officer standing there. The neighbors apparently thought we were having some sort of domestic fight and called the cops on us.

Whats New?

Today I am trying to do a little catching up on the blog...good stuff
Ok so whats new with Ben and I and what have we been up to since we got married?
Well Ben was working for a terrible company for about a month before our wedding... while on our honeymoon they actually called him into work and then when we got home they came looking for him and were going to call the police all because of a tiny misunderstanding... their main form of communication is through text... need I say more...
As I said he was working for them and when we got home and all this happened he is no longer! Yay! Well for about a week Ben applied for many jobs. Then one day three places called him back! He was offered two of the jobs... the one was an automated call thing and it was lame. Ben turned one of the jobs down. The owner of the job that Ben turned down called Ben back and offered him some amazing benefits if he would just come and try them out for a week before he decided what job to take... Including getting paid while "trying it out" Who gets that kind of an oppurtunity??? AMAZING! So things are going well.
Ben has some amazing ideas too... He really wants to get into real estate but has a unique approach. He has some great business ideas. Neither one of want to work for THE MAN for the rest of our lives. Ben is so smart I'm always excited to see what he's going to come up with next!
As for me I'm still working at Discover Card which gets a tad tiring somedays and irriating. I work in 90 day collections so I call (stalk) people who have not paid their bill for three months... I get yelled at a lot its not depressing at all. Its a good job though. I have some issues with it but hey... its a paycheck for now right?
Back in June I was offered a job that I have been wanting forever... jetBlue Airways! My mom works there and I've been wanting to work there! I actually applied in December 08 and they were on a hiring freeze but then they called me and I was hired! I get to work from home, Ben and I fly for free we get discounts on hotels, cruises, rental cars... its going to be FABULOUS!!!
The only thing is now I have to figure out how to do Discover and jetBlue... Discover are kinda being not so nice ... they say they are but ... eh...
Anywhoo... thats where we are at right now so we will see what happens! We have so many oppurtunities and we feel so blessed! We are so excited for the many adventures to come!

The Wedding

So... here's a semi sweet and short version of one of the best days of our lives!
I am so glad we chose not get sealed until later in the morning because I had to be at the hair place at seven and if it had not been earlier... HOLY CHICKEN... no way no way no way. But my stylist was amazing my hair was GORGEOUS! I don't know how she did it and it did not move all day!
Amazingly I actually got done a little early and we were able to sort of relax for about oh 30 minutes. Then it was off to the temple we had to be there like two hours early... eye yi yi! It was so busy I honestly don't remember how many weddings they said were going on that morning but it was in the hundreds! While I was in the bridesroom getting ready with my mom one of my friends came in from Jr. High and she had just been married! It was so fun to see her and so random! The ceromony was absolutely beautiful... thats all there is to say about that. Afterwords we came out and took pictures for about oh two - three hours!!! I got burned on my neck and we were so beat! The pictures turned out amazing though! Our photographer was FANTASTIC! I'm going to try and put a slide show or something up soon! If you need a good photographer please let me know she's the best! When we finally got to the luncheon Ben and I had pretty much had it... LOL we were ready to go to sleep! For real! But we had some delicious food which helped get us ready for the rest of the day! After some more amazing and fun pictures we had a ring ceremony in the backyard area of the reception hall. It was so fun and beautiful! Ben's Uncle Allen conducted and gave us some advice as well as telling everyone how we met. Then Mitch and Morgan (Maid of Honor and Best Man) gave a little speach... It was Awesome! Morgan talked about how I was good at showing my emotions and Ben was good at helping me control them... LOL LOL LOL she also said some other sweet things and Mitch gave a short but sweet and very Mitch like congrats to us.
After words we headed back inside with what was supposed to be a fun and dance filled evening... needless to say our DJ was terrible and I'd rather not talk about it at the time thats for another post another day. Ben and I did do a way fun wedding dance though! We did the cake cutting and I thought Ben and I had agreed to do it nicely but apparently not... It got down my dress but no worries I got him too! We had very sugary faces the rest of the night!
About an hour into the reception Ben and I were tired again....
we actually decided to leave about twenty minutes early. It was amazing though as we walked out the doors everyone had lit sparkers and were holding them in the air to make a little archway type thing for us! SO COOL! Anywhoo... we stayed at the Anniversary in for two nights before our honeymoon in two different rooms! It was amazing and so fun the honeymoon was fantastic as well!

Quote of the Week

As some of you may know I teach a dance class once a week full of little preschoolers. I have a few that have quite a bit of "spirit". One of my favorites is Katelyn who cannot hold still for one second. On Monday I said "ok girls show me that your ready to do your dance" everyone puts their hands on their hips and they are quiet and then theirs katelyn whos trying to lick her chest. I say "Katelyn does not look like she's ready" Then without looking at me she says... "I'm ready when you're ready Miss Lindsey"

Why thank you Katelyn.
WOW! Love it!

Sledding!

Ben, Morgan, Cheyenne, and I have been wanting to go sledding for a while now but because of colds we haven't been able to :( Finally the day came and everyone was feeling well. So we bundled up and headed off for our adventure. We assumed that one of us had some sleds. None were to be found except broken ones so we thought no biggie we will go buy some new ones... NEWS FLASH: Christmas + Huge Snow storm = NO SLEDS!

Finally after calling different places we found some. They only had one kind left and they were the cheap plastic kind. But thats ok! So we headed to the golf course. There were tons of hills! Ben and I sat on a sled and started to take off... and then the sled slipped out from under us and we stopped! Same thing happened to Morgan and Cheyenne. The snow at this part of the course had not been patted down well yet.

So we headed to a different part and WE HAD A BLAST! We were zoomin down the hill, tipping over, knockin into people! Loved it! A snowboarder zoomed past my head while I was making a snow angel. His board went right over where my angel head was. If I hadn't of moved eye yi yi.
It was so much fun! I love sledding! I can't wait to go again! I can't manuever very well by myself but Ben and I make a great team we were flying down the hill!
Here's a pic of Morgan and I before we left to go sledding

ESTROGEN??? Theres got to be a reason for this craziness...

Ok so on the side of my desk in plain view is a paper that says "rtemp Lindsey Parry". I went through a temp agency so they can't hire me till my time is up with the agency but they will be hiring me at the first of November. Anyways so RTEMP stands for Records Temp. So I'm sitting at my desk doing my work as usual and my purse is on my desk. This random lady walks by and whispers to me pointing to my purse " You might want to put away somewhere so things don't get stolen" and I"m like ok sure thanks will do. Then she proceeds to tell me (who knows why?) that at her old job while they were all in a meeting someone took all the money and cell phones out of the purses sitting out. So then she says "we hire a lot of temps here and I don't think they do a very good background check on them. We don't know what kind of people we are letting in here so its best we all be careful..."
So I say thanks without busting into uncontrollable laughter and fall on the floor and she goes on her merry way...
So do we not hire people with a background check on reading and awareness as well???
Hilarious... it makes my days so flippin funny!

Blonde Moment...LMAO!

So... I admit... I am not totally up to date on this "text lingo" crapola ok. So I have a friend who shall remane nameless for the sake of privacy...LOL I'm on a roll call me butter... ok ok sorry so I have a friend and when she texts me sometimes she writes "LMAO" at first I thought she was just spelling Lame-O wrong and then I thought to my smart little self "maybe she's saying lame-O different. So for about a week or two now anytime I think somethings lame I have been saying " Elle em eh O" and Ben has just sorta laughed and been like whatever linds. Well the other day I said it and he's like Linds why do you keep saying that? I said I dunno new way to say "Lame-O cool huh?" He's like where did you get that from? I'm like Brooke texts it to me sometimes... then Ben get this look the oh I love my girlfriend but I think her brain is fried at times. Ok he probably doesn't think that he's just like oh boy... linds... linds linds. So he proceeds to tell me that "LMAO" means Laughing My Ars Off.... WHOOPS! LOL
I'm like what ok whatever I still like saying it so for everyone else "LMAO" means one thing but for me its just another way of saying somethings lame ... ok!

Poor Ben... and my family LOl oh geez
